Welcome to the “Meet the Characters” page!
Here you will find descriptions for the various characters that are featured in the “Sean” comics as well as links that will allow you to view all comic that have been posted so far according to what character appears in them.
Sean is a beaver who likes to believe he is the coolest guy around, but unfortunately for him that isn't the case. He is constantly trying to prove himself as a means of compensating for his own feelings of insecurity (not that he would admit that of course). His favorite activity is soccer and acts as captain of his high school soccer team, even though none of his fellow students have any interest in the constantly loosing program. He is the best friend and self-appointed mentor of Oliver, whom he attempts to instruct in the ways of coolness. Sean also has long had a not-so-secret crush of his friend Lynda that has slowly bloomed into a full-fledged relationship. Despite everything that points to the contrary, Sean will never give up his mission of showing the world just how cool he thinks he is.
The youngest student in his grade, Oliver is still a pretty naïve otter in the ways of high school life. Luckily for him, his best friend Sean is always there for him, even though his attempts at teaching him how to be cool mostly just serve to confuse him. Oliver is a sweet guy, but sometimes he can be oblivious and occasionally blunt in conversation, not realizing the effect that his innocent question or comment might have on those around him. Recently, Oliver ended an unlikely relationship with Rebecca, one of the most popular girls in school and a rival of Sean, much to Sean's chagrin. Even though he is sometimes unsure about what's going on Oliver is a loyal and true friend.
With a down-to-earth outlook and (usually) unflappable attitude, Lynda is the most mature member of her group of friends. Her levelheaded outlook means that she's typically the first to offer help or give out friendly advice. She is best friends with Cindy but also has a soft spot for Sean, whom she is just starting to date. In fact, she enjoys pressing his proverbial buttons as it gives her opportunities to see through the cracks in his “coolness” façade to see the real Sean underneath. Kind, self-assured, and with a sly sense of humor, Lynda just might be the only person Sean might concede is cooler than him.
Cindy is one smart dog whose passion is reading and losing herself in both the fantasies and realities of faraway time and places. Although she is the best student in her grade, the obvious seems to elude her when it comes to everyday life outside the classroom. Cindy is a sensitive girl and can be a bit of a worrywart when she finds herself in situations when she's pushed outside her comfort zone. Fortunately her best friend, Lynda is beside her every step of the way with advice and encouragement. Real life might not come as easy to her as her studies do, but her friends know that they can always count on good-natured Cindy to come through for them in the end.

As captain of the varsity cheerleaders, Rebecca is one of the most popular girls in school. However, she often grows tired of the social status-obsessed popular crowd and the pressure of being a part of it. Instead, she'd rather hang out with unpretentious types with whom she can just be herself, even though her social standing often forces her to do the opposite. She recently ended an unlikely relationship with Oliver, whose sweet and naïve attitude make him fun to be around at first but eventually made her want to seek a more mature boyfriend. Although Sean is extremely skeptical of this popular girl, Rebecca might just prove that you can't always judge a book by its cover.
Despite his current employment, Sean's soccer coach doesn't seem to know much about soccer or even sports in general. As a result, the team doesn't have the best track record despite Sean's best efforts. However, The Coach is always there for Sean and his teammates with a ear to bend (if ducks had ears, that is) or some advice about life on or off the field. Maybe he doesn't always give the best advice, but The Coach is always looking forward to what that next game might bring.
